New Treatment Could Help a ‘Deadly Heart Problem’ 2010-09-23
By Men's Health

Good news for people suffering from aortic stenosis, a.k.a., a narrowing of the aortic valve that prevents blood from being pumped from the heart to the body and the brain.

According to a new article in The Wall Street Journal, people who have this condition could benefit from “experimental treatment that avoids open-heart surgery.”

The reason why the new treatment is so important is because approximately one-third of all people with aortic stenosis can’t undergo the surgery; for many, it’s simply too risky, says the article.
