A number of new changes for insurance companies will take place today, according to a new article in The New York Times.

Beginning now, insurance companies won’t be able to exclude children from coverage because of pre-existing health conditions, says the story. It also states that people under the age of 26 can be covered under their parents’ policies.

Plus, the article also notes that it allows preventive procedures, like colonoscopies and mammograms to be covered without co-payments.
