Is my new lover using Viagra? He is 46 and wants sex all the time 2012-08-14
By Dear Colleen

Dear Coleen,

I’ve recently met a new partner and the sex with him is amazing – he is always up for it!

He’s 46 years old, so I find this very strange.

I even came out and asked if he took Viagra, which he flatly denied.

Do you think it’s possible for a 46-year-old to have an erection for most of the night?

If he was taking Viagra, I’d be afraid he might have a heart attack!

Any thoughts on this?

Coleen says:

He’s only 46! If he was 96, I may think it odd!

You’re still in the early stages of a relationship, which is the most exciting time, and he just can’t get enough of you right now.

I don’t think it’s unusual in the slightest.

And if he says he’s not taking Viagra, I’d believe him.

Usually, I get people writing in because their partners are no longer interested in sex, so I’d suggest you enjoy it while it lasts.

And if you’re not up for it on a particular night, just tell him it’s great but you’re exhausted.

If you get further down the line with your relationship and discover your sex drives are very different, you’ll need to have a conversation about that.

But if you’re having fun right now, what’s the sense in even worrying about it?

All my friends are in love: But I'm gay and can't find the right partner
